stitch fix first box
Stitch Fix is your personal stylist, who will mail you a box of fashion finds based on your style every month (or whatever frequency you like).
My first box arrived on Wednesday and with 3 days to return, I dropped it into a USPS box last night since this Snowpocalypse is making NYC a stay-at-time-and-Netflix kind of day (or a UWIB kick-off join.me meeting day). Here is a collage of the 5 pieces and some ways I decided to put it on:

My experience with Stitch Fix went from:
😮 – oh, what is this?
😀 – hey, this survey is kinda fun, *pins some things*
😦 – eh, a styling fee?
😕 – what if I don’t like the stuff?
📧 – 5 months later, discount code email –> 😁 aw yeah
📦 – package arrives!
👚👖👗 – yazz 😍
😭❄️ – when returning at the start of Snowpocalypse
Can you tell I love emojis? More about my experience in words and larger pictures…
I found out about this from my friend back in August and I started filling out my style profile. They ask you about your sizes and how you like to wear your clothes (tight/fitted/rise/etc). They have a bunch of style photos and ask what you think about it as well as how often you dress casual / work / cocktail / night out. Basically, a TON of questions to get to know what you like. You can also share your social profiles so your stylist can know how you already dress or what you like in a visually. The best part if a free-form text box to say more things that the questions couldn’t really answer.
The biggest reason why I didn’t order back in August was — what if I didn’t like what they sent me? (Which is fine cause I can just return it… but why go through that hassle / chance?) I ordered my first box last week after they emailed me a discount code to waive the $20 styling fee (code: YESPLEASE1716, try it but no promises on it working for you). I went on a Pinterest pinning spree of fashion and outfits that I liked (clothes <3 board). I also found the Stitch Fix Pinterest and started pinning those outfits too. (It was then that I kept seeing this girl Jean aka Extra Petite and all her beautiful photos with perfect outfits and immediately followed her Instagram and went all fan-girl 😍 *rare moment*.)

Sorry for the mess in my house. It’s hard finding a “clean” spot to take photos… and lighting is bad. I need to learn to use my DSLR better… Other items I am wearing are:
- J. Crew gold/white bangle
- Fitbit Charge HR – black
- H&M black low heels – black
This is totally my look. How did Rachael know?! I’ve been eyeing maroon colored pants for a while. The pants were a bit too tight since my calves are big (thanks BBG for all the extra muscle).

Top: #4 Creative Commons – Vanetta Split Neck Blouse
Bottom: #2 Lysse – Joylyn Ponte Legging
I never know where to put my hands. Check out my awesome shadow monster.

Just another angle.

The blouse is very loose… so if I had purchased this (or similar), I would likely not wear it. Not trying to expose myself.

Bottom: #3 Margaret M – Christiana Pencil Skirt
There’s the loose top on the loose again! Haha. The pencil skirt also scrunches in a weird spot. Maybe it was right where I tucked in the shirt? The skirt is surprisingly stretchy. My sister didn’t like the feel of it.

I wasn’t sure if this shirt was meant to be so loose. It looks pretty strange worn like this. I also realized after I undressed and put everything in the return bag that I didn’t mix this top with the maroon bottoms.

And last photo.

So… how did I wear these looks? 🙂
Overall, I really like what they picked out (minus the white polka top), but the price point was too high for me. I’m a sales shopper… I would definitely recommend this to anyone who shops in this budget range and is looking to refresh their wardrobe without the craziness of fitting rooms, lines, and people.
